Where did my web site come from.?
For such along time I had been wanting to own my own web site, but like many I suppose, this seemed a very daunting task to start. Where to begin, what to put on it, a whole new language to learn to write the various pages, but mainly, having the confidence to get on and do it.
In 2002, my dear Mother passed away. What better place to start. A tribute to her, my Father and StepFather, showing pictures and brief history of them, then later progress by introducing other subjects. They had all been in the armed forces during WW2, my Father and Stepfather actually being Prisoners of War in Stalag XXA and Stalag XXB. My Mother being in the ATS.
So, there it was, the inspiration I had been looking for. A semi pictorial view of there lives.
I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to Andy Barfield of Pardosa-Software.com, a very good friend of many years, for all his patience, understanding, help and guidance. Got any hair left Andy.....?
To Paul, Ron and all the other people too numerous to mention who I sent emails to asking them to have a look at the site to see if it was working ok, I offer my grateful thanks.
